Yes, we know it is hardly any time since our 'Kill The DJ' mix came out and no, we are not trying to flood the market. There was meant to be a nine month gap between these two mixes coming out but due to various problems holding up the release of 'Kill The DJ' they have ended up coming out far closer together than anyone intended. Anyway, we are delighted to present 'Psyche Out' in association with our good friends at Belgium's Eskimo Recordings.
We wanted to do something very different from the 'Kill The DJ' mix and came up with the idea of doing something vaguely psychedelic in flavour. We also wanted to let the tracks play a little longer which is why this mix has half the number of songs that 'Kill The DJ' did. Apart from a couple of tracks, almost everything on this mix is at least ten years old with a couple of songs dating back to the 1960's. It would have been very easy to put lots of current 'killer' tracks on it but we wanted to ensure that everything on it was something we genuinely loved and that it wouldn't date very quickly. We hope we have succeeded and created something that is enjoyable to listen to and that perhaps will help you to 'psyche out'.
It is a single cd but there is also a vinyl doublepack containing some of the songs in their complete form. In addition there is a super sexy ultra limited edition 12" picture disc containing an additional three songs in their complete form.
