How's Your Party?...

Switch (Dubsided / Solid Groove)
Full Phat - live
Ooft! DJs

Thursday 8th May 2008
Sub Club

On May 8th we welcome the return of one of the most influential and in demand artists in electronic music. There are very few people who hit the dance floors of the world that haven't felt the bass from one of Switch's monstrous productions in the last 2 years. Having first blazed a trail with his seminal 'Get Ya Dub On' and 'Get On Down' over 5 years ago, Switch has went on to dominate underground electronic music becoming the ultimate cross over act of recent times. Remixer to anyone worth their salt, Switch has found himself adding his fidgety finesse to more artists than there is space on this page. Basement Jaxx, Robbie Williams, Chemical Brothers, Coldcut, Skream, Spank Rock, Evil Nine, Les Rhythmes Digitales and countless others have had their music ripped apart and put together again with the techy, bass heavy, electro house sounds of this one man music machine. Well known for his mainstream hit 'A Bit Patchy' and equally notorious for his work as Solid Groove ('This Is Sick' is exactly that), Switch has stayed true to his ideals - appealing to the most underground of club kids as well as the fleeting public at large. Mr Taylor also finds the time to run both Dubsided and Counterfeet Records as well as 'Get Familiar' - the biggest night at London's Fabric night club. 2007 has seen Switch produce the international hit that is M.I.A's Kala album as well as tour the globe as one of the most popular DJs in the world just now. He really is an industry all of his own...

Backing up the main man is Glasgow's freshest musical export, Full Phat. Having been toiling away in the studio for many years, Full Phat has recently been blowing up his own spots with his bumpy, tech house sound.Releases on international labels Clean House Music, On The Brink and Flat Pack Trax has spread the word about Phatty and this is a chance to hear what all the fuss is about. An all the way live set, showcasing classic and new material from one of the bright hopes of Scottish electronic music. 'Fat Burdy' is bound to blow up and let everyone know what's up.

DJ duties on the night come from Five20East Recordings' Ooft!. These two have been making fans and friends all over town with their genre busting electronic sights and sounds and are sure to warm the feets up nicely for the main event. Recent releases and their 'Forever In Their Debt' edit series have sold out internationally and brought the spot light on two prodigious talents.

All you crunked up ghetto house fans! This will be a rare opportunity to catch Switch on UK soil as he has upped sticks and relocated to LA. It looks like this will be his only Scottish date in 2008 so don't miss out!
