unintentional, mind, but still...very funny...

bought this The George W. Bush Out of Office Countdown day by day calendar. Every day is another moronic quote from the man himself...

"I want to thank the astronauts who are with us, the courageous spacial entrepreneurs who set such a wonderful example for the young of our country" - Wash DC, Jan 9, 04

"Who could have possibly envisioned an erection - an election - in Iraq at this point in history" - Wash DC, Jan 10, 05

"Rarely is the question asked: 'Is our children learning?'" - Florence, S.C, Jan 11, 00

"We thought long and hard about what to propose. We proposed a bold initiative, an initiative that takes equities out of the system, so people are treated fairly." - Lee's Summit, Mo, Jan 12 07

"The California crunch really is the result of not enough power-generating plants and then not enough power to power the power of generating plants" - The NY Times, Jan 14, 01

"Because he's hiding" - aboard Air Force One, discussing why Osama bin Laden is still at large, Jan 05

"There's no such thing as legacies. At least, there is a legacy, but I'll never see it" - the White House, Jan. 16, 01

"I want everybody to hear loud and clear that I'm going to be the president of everybody" DC, Jan 18, 01

"I know how hard it is to put food on your family" - Nashua, NH, Jan 00

What a flippin' moron.

funny quotes indeed. i've read a couple of them before and always chuckle.

then i remember that he's one of the most powerful men on the whole planet and get the horrible feeling that we're all doomed.

how long till hillary takes over?

I'm not sure Bush is that stupid, or if he is then i still don't think that those quotes are genuine mistakes. I think they're well polished PR tools. The mans core vote is poor uneducated types who are well removed and isolated from politics. These errors make him more like them and so they can associate with him. He's just one of us kind of a thing.........plus he blows shit up.

I really think you are giving him too much credit, if you think he just acts like a fool so the hillbillies will like him.
Also where are you getting your info that most people who voted for him are uneducated? My wife has family in the states and they are all die hard Bush voters, one is a retired judge, and the rest of the family are also professionals, which proves you can still be educated and an idiot.

Most people are idiots full stop. I think the state of the world proves this to be an axiomatic truth. George Bush is Satan's jester made flesh.

Has anyone noticed that in 2 days, bobobo has quoted me basically twice? "most people are idiots full stop"....I am sure I said exactly the same thing about a month ago in the racialist Scotland debate.

hmmmm...

I don't think Bush is remotely savvy. and I feel sorry for Cud's family ties if he knows people who voted for him. I'm proud to say that I don't have any family who know more than a couple people who voted for him - and that certainly isn't counting them! I actually do not directly know one American who voted for him....and considering I lived there for 21 years, it does make me wonder what sorts of people voted for them. Then again, my friends and family aren't fools.
(That's not slagging you, Cud. you said your relatives were educated and dumb for voting for him....not me)

Today's Bush gem...

"He was a state sponsor of terror. In other words, the government had declared, you are a state sponsor of terror" - discussing Saddam in Manhattan, Kansas, Jan 06

I'm not saying that he's clever enough to know that talking gibberish makes him more appealing to a certain demographic, but i certainly think some of his advisors are.

If those 'bushisms' were hurting him, he wouldn't be making them

erm, MC....sorry. disagree there. A lot of the things he has done in office have hurt him and yet he did them. And re-did them. And now the Republicans are unelectable. (not a bad thing either...)

Iain, I don't know what yr problem is, but you've been on this board for 5 minutes and decided to take issue with me time and time again. I'm not quite sure why this is. I think when people like bobobo continually do their best to insult me or take issue with me (frankly, I think he generally only insults since he has no point) and then on threads where people attempt to debate me over comments like "all people are idiots", which is, in my opinion, obvious and not worth a debate, then it makes perfect sense for me to point out to said trolls that things I've quite publicly said are now being said by a troll, and others are saying "hell yeah!" and acting like they've made some new breakthrough in modern social commentary.

Does that explain it for you, Iain? I think it's abudantly obvious to everyone else what I mean, but I hope my spelling it out to you helps you digest it a bit better.

Have a nice day.

It saddens me to the point of anger, having said that, my wife votes conservative and would have voted for Thatcher in her final term. We donít discuss politics much as you can imagine.

The only benefit is at least I get to fuck a Tory. Very Happy

And, frankly, I have better things to do with my time than memorise the inane and pathologically insane drivel that you spout on here. That's right everyone's out to get you. No one recognises that you are ALWAYS right, and no, of course you aren't an emotional retard.
