Plastic Little started out in the summer of 2001 as a duo of Kurt Hunte and Jayson Scott Musson doing shows to the critical acclaim of… well, of nobody. Musson and Hunte performed to bars and clubs filled with nobody except the bartender and the disgruntled door guys. Since then they have added to their gang with emcee Jon Folmar and super producer Michael “SQUID” Stern and toiled in the studio and steadily building themselves into an underground hip hop sensation that the coolest kids just can’t get enough of. Part of the current wave of booty inflected hip hop artists that make music for the club, alongside The Cool Kids, Spank Rock and Clipse they have taken their suburban drawl to the masses with some of the most infectiously funky beats and rhymes about today. Plastic Little take the best bits of rap music, the things we love about house music and the elements of electro that make us all want more and fuse it together effortlessly. The result is a hip hop show like no other.

Since their self released debut ‘Thug Paradise 2.1’ in 2001 they have built up a reputation as being truly unique, offering a fresh perspective on a musical genre that has found itself in troubled waters. Hip hop has become creatively dry in recent years but Plastic Little are here to make sure we remember why we love it so, when the rest of them seem not to care. Even if the record buying public didn’t catch on, the critics certainly did with praised heaped upon the group from taste making publications such as Urb, Vice, Fader and Pitchfork all showering praise on these independent mavericks. On their new album ‘She’s Mature’, their cutting mix of social commentary, political insights and stories about girls has been perfected and married to beats that WILL make you dance. Released at the end of 2007 it features collaborations with Ghostface Killah, Spank Rock and Diplo and has seen them tour the globe to quite a few more people than a bar man and unhappy bouncers. How times change when you’re having fun and making music like no one else…

Joining Plastic Little are the only DJs in Glasgow fit for the job, Jackmaster & Rustie. Whether they’re releasing scene defining records for the best underground labels about or DJing to packed clubs cross Europe, you know they’ve got their fingers on the pulse that keeps us moving. They are two Glasgow success stories that the global music community can’t get enough of. You know all about them so it's best to keep it short and sweet...

There's funny wee interview with 'Philly's 2nd Hottest Rap Group' here. Don't let the fact it's in Vice Magazine put you off. They may be hip but they're not hipsters.

After a quick trawl of the information super high way I found this tasty video of Plastic Little live @ Mini Marcha. It's better than your average youtube fodder that's for sure...Plastic Little 'I'm Not A Thug'. It's been a while since I have been convinced by a hip hop group's live show but these guys look like they have it nailed.
