Father Ted
Black Books
Spaced
Big Train
Armstrong & Miller
Peep Show
That Mitchell & Webb Look
Green Wing
Sean's Show
Mary Whitehouse Experience
Newman & Baddiel.
Robert Newman's History of the World Backwards
Russel Brand's Got Issues / Ponderland.
Mighty Boosh
Garth Merenghi's Darkplace
The It Crowd
Nathan Barley
Brass Eye, Day Today, Jam
Dave Chapelle
Dave Allen
Richard Pryor Show

...and I think I'm going to have to put Nip/Tuck on this list because it's fucking hilarious.

Black Books has always been a favourite. Dylan Moran is comedy genius.
Best thing about Big Train was the Prince sketch with the jockeys.
That Mitchell & Webb Look is great, the green clarinet man sketch was the best.
Sean's Show: remember that? Morrisey! (Grab the daffodils.)
Newman & Baddiel: Most of it is on youtube. Rob Newman was always good anyway. Baddiel had his moments too, but clearly nowt but a sidekick. I remember his Suede parody being funny though. "Whoops, ducky! What a gay day. Welcome to going live.."

Oh aye, and 'Divine David presents...' was my favourite thing on the telly for a while. But alas.. the character is now dead und burried.

I forgot about Kids in the Hall. Used to love that. Crushing your skull. The chicken lady. All sorts of nonsense.

Re: Mighty Boosh. I think they're still funny, but I agree the ego seems to have got to them. Well, Noel anyway. Jullian seems like a shy, self depreciating sort in interviews and the like. I remember seeing them both do stand up years ago. Way before the Boosh, and liking their style of comedy independantly. Liked all 3 series. But the Boosh Live dvd was awful. It doesn't transfer to the stage well, laughs were few, and at the end Noel jumps into crowds of 13 yr old Vince Noir obsessive goth girls for about 20 minutes, having his rock star moment and milking it for all it's worth. Remember Julian in the Metz advert with an eyepatch on? "I'm a freelance scientist. It's technically known as a judder.... "

The casting for the older celebs is fantastic. June Sarpong, Paula Radcliffe and Anne Robinson are my faves.

Very funny Laughing

Were you a fan? I thought it was one of the poorest Ianucci vehicles I'd seen. Both Adam Buxton and Richard Ayoade, both of whom I find very funny comedy actors, bored me to tears in it and it's just not as sharp as a lot of his earlier stuff [Armistice/Chris Morris collaborations]

Having just rewatched all six seasons, I can honestly say The Sopranos is one of the best black comedies of all-time

i only ever caught the occasional episode and thought it was ok.

also, if we're including radio comedy, armando ianucci's charm offensive and the news quiz (both on radio 4) are both ace. i used to love i'm sorry i haven't got a clue, but have kinda grown sick of it (as much as it pains me to say). i still enjoy just a minute tho.

I went to see Just A Minute recorded many moons ago. Panel was Paul Merton, Clement Freud, Tony Hawks and Linda Smith and I laughed my bum off Smile

Just watched an episode of 'Kids in the Hall'...

was quite disappointed. The laughter track was far too prominent and quashed the actual laughs, but personally even if there wasn't one i don't think i'd be too big on it. Maybe i caught a bad episode, but i wasn't much impressed.

That said, there was an EXCELLENT sketch involving a gay couple having friends round for dinner. Priceless.

I know its been mentioned by myself included but south park.....sometimes it actually pains me how funny it is.

One of my favorite episodes was just on, Timmy and Jimmy in the crips gang and Christopher Reeve sucking on foetus. Good times.

I mean 'come on...'

Thanks for the link Mozza! Ha, What a legend. Saw the other Divine David clip on there too with the jar of spunk. Both hilarious! Ah, that brought back memories...

Memories of the show, not of a jar of spunk.
