So then, why do you hide behind anonymity?

Ehh... it's not you the anonymous people are anonymous to. since you dunno who they are, their real name would mean as little to you as anything else. but sometimes the things that people talk about with their friends on a website for a club aren't the things they would like, say, their employers, or their parents, to come across.

yes... but I may actually recognise someone's first name... if I put two and two together and knew them from Optimo for example. Does that make sense?

Because of all the crazy names here, I can't tell if I do actually know anyone!

Say, what is the etiquette if someone you know has unintentionally sent a nasty reply to you not knowing who you are and you find out you do know each other? Do you act normal when you see them again? Confused

i don't, i would use my real name but as emmakate said, I mibbe wouldn't want my employer or mum to search my name and see some of the stuff i'm up to.

several times i've posted pictures of myself on this forum and there are some amongst the espookio photos.

I'm not really sure what your point is anyway, what difference would it make if you did know my real name or if you knew me, my opinions would still be the same.

i once called someone on here a sex pest and later realised i knew them, they agreed that on the basis of the thread i was justified in saying what i did. i wouldn't say anything on here that i wouldn't stand by in real life.

Oh and just so you know, if you are having an argument/heated debate on an internet forum, it is not good etiquette to personal message someone and have a private moan.

this is me:

and this

God, sorry I didn't think I sent a private mesage but if you said I did I take your word for it. It wasn't intentional, it was for the public forum. Honest. I'm new at this. Embarassed
No need to tell me about etiquette, I'm a very polite person!

(and even if I had sent you a private message the fact you have announced it on a public forum, is worse etiquette I think.)

I find it funny though that you come across as a bit of a rebel the way you talk down to me and then you actually say you'd be worried what your mum would think !?

It would make a difference if I knew/recognised someone's real name here. That's where we differ. I don't like to offend people I know. I'm not rude.
And I certainly don't pretend to be a saint to my mum!

.....................................................................................gasp

I always hate it on here when people retire from arguments but i feel that i'm going to have to step down from this one, there are just too many points i need to make to you and you seem completely incapable of taking them in.

are you the new DDK?

oh and yes i am a rebel, a warrior in woolworths if ever there was one.

I bet those policy people in Victoria Quay are kicking themselves that that this thread did not take place a few months ago ....... it could have fed directly into this ........
